Well after two days at work again I have to say it's okay.
I started out "behind" in my work meaning there is a stack of tapes to type up and I have the ONLY dictation machine that works. Also I noticed that the files are so far behind it's... well, if I was an attorney I would be very concerned that my correspondence wasn't getting in the file, but hey this stuff takes so long to get to court sometimes who would notice if something didn't get filed for a year? The good news is that filing is not my job! I also don't have to make coffee or run get everyone lunch, and it's much more of a team player atmosphere. So that is very helpful and I hope to get my work done so I can help with the filing and other stuff and make the office ship-shape. I remembered a lot of stuff right away which was nice. And people are very nice there and very much concerned about each other so that is different too! I told my boss, it was a kinder, gentler place to work, and he agreed. It surprised me because the last time I worked there the paralegals were always complaining about the attorneys, and it turns out the paralegals were the ones creating the high tension atmosphere all along. (I knew this. It was just good to see it from a different perspective!) So it was nice that I went back to something I knew well enough not to start at the beginning. I'll let you know how next week goes!

Sounds like you are "doing good girl". Glad the atmosphere is better than it was before. That can make all the difference in the world. Makes it easier to be a team player.
Yes very true. They stress that they're a team. We'll see, the first week you really can't read too much into reactions, but when one girl was getting asked about something she did she called it a "reaming" which it certainly wasn't-- and all the rest of the office went to bat for her and told her she was terrific... anyway I am still liking being back there. Lots of work waiting for me tomorrow...
