Just felt like yakking... and not helping the kids with homework.
So my kids have a lot of homework. It's annoying. I hated it when I was in school. When my mom asked me about college I looked at her like she had two heads. I was SO glad to be out of "the Institution"... but I do understand the importance of education and have quite an inquisitive mind, so of course I have helped my children and tried to encourage them at every turn. This has included providing fabric, paint, wire, yarn, styrofoam, duct tape, and origami paper whenever they need it for projects. It's included helping a child write a page-long poem - In FRENCH. It has involved power tools and has kept me up all night before, several nights. ALL night like we finish up, have a glass of chocolate milk, and Dad gets up for work... Ok so I am a little burned out right now. I finally got the Gifted Child graduated so the project load should go down considerably.

I think it's time for some totally waste of time grown up chat with some lady friends over Mexican food!

Heidi, I completely agree with you! I think we all need a break.

Chatting with friends is not a waste of time, it's therapy. We need (me too) to take time to do nothing, or play or visit.
