Pictures for Ashley`

Here are some pictures for you of your family here.  This one is your dad, he was on a diet for his birthday so we made him a beautiful salad.  Forgive him for not being so cheerful about it! :)
Here are the kids getting ready for Halloween.  Too cute!!
Here they are at a door for Trick or Treat fun. Our neighbor Miss Pat is such a good sport!

I got these goofy post-it notes at a yard sale and told everyone to find a use for them. So they did.
 LOL!!

More Christmas

The best part was getting to Skype Alexander and see him, he's looking very tan and the kids say he's picking up an African accent.  He still sounds the same to me but hey, moms are like that. I can understand him when he's under anesthesia too. LOL!  He seemed to be very happy and healthy and HE GOT HIS BOX!! Finally! We mailed it November 14 and he got it December 23.  SO that was wonderful.

Here is another photo of Katie singing in her Christmas performance, she is on the left side end, second row
And here she is in her Christmas hat
Larry came over and we all got our hats on!
Philip and Elizabeth are learning how to roll fondant for candy, And make a shark-thing.
And for all you on Facebook that worried Philip would be cold in Idaho, we got him a nice warm 3-1 jacket and gloves too. I read all the posts, and they were already under the tree!  If he's still cold he knows where he can buy long johns in Idaho! :)  Some of you may remember we bought Alex a nice warm jacket to wear in Utah for Missionary Training, and he left it here, we had to mail it. I think Philip will remember his!

Replacement Patio Cover

SO in case you haven't been here in a while, the house has changed a lot. The back patio now looks like this. The three pane sliding glass door is still there and on the side you can see (which is to the right if you're standing in the house looking out the glass doors) is my closet. It's great! We used to have a rather blah patio cover and it was lovely to get the thing off and see all the light... but we have to put something back up before summer as the heat will be excruciating!
So first Greg built a breezeway from the shop to the house.
When you look up this is what it looks like. The shade and fan are going to be great in the summer.

THe house is brick, the shop is not (it's Hardyplank)
THey were still doing construction when I took the pics but you can see how it works
.  We'll post more when we get the patio cover completed.  Greg has it all planned out. He's amazing! He and Philip have done all the work on this.

Christmas means Lemons

Katie got to sing at a local church for CHristmas with her school choir.  It was beautiful and we got this picture of Katie and her teacher afterwards.
Yes we have a wonderful lemon tree that grows tons of enormous lemons! Here you can see it's even bigger than Philip's mouth!  We got one that was 15 ounces.... enough for a couple of pies... Yes, we have lemon juice in ziplock bags in the freezer. Yes I make lemon pies every 3 days or so.  Yes we have given them to everyone we can think of. Yes even total strangers and the post man.  Yes, the tree still looks like this, after Greg trimmed it all back and we cut the lemons off the branches to mail to family and friends.  Yes, you can have some. Just let us know or come by. The clippers are on the table.(And yes, when it blooms, it smells like heaven.)

LaPlace Louisiana Hurricane Isaac Cleanup

La Place Louisiana
We went to help with the clean up. Mostly it means hauling stuff to the curb.  Molding, doors and doorframes, sheetrock (plasterboard) and insulation about 4 feet up most of the time. The piles outside all the houses were huge - if they weren't, we worried the owners were away and wouldn't know their house was becoming a wet, moldy mess.  Anyway, the estimates on the work we did were between $3,000.00 and $6,000.00 and we did two a day. Cool huh! Mormon Helping Hands was so organized.  And awesome. It was a privilege to help our neighbors!

Elizabeth's Birthday!

Sister Brasseaux made Elizabeth a fabulous chocolate cake. These are the Brasseaux kids with our girls licking the frosting off the candles.
The Young Women & Leaders HEART ATTACKED Elizabeth's room!  It's so nice to know people remember and love you!!
Philip, this will be your room when you get home and E will have to move back in with Katie.  We're thinking we should leave the hearts up just to let you know we're glad you're back.  (Philip gets home from his mission to Farmington, New Mexico mission October third.  We are SO excited!)
